Blige has filed for divorce from her husband and music manager Kendu Isaacs after 12 years of marriage.
Court records show the "Family Affair" singer filed for divorce from Martin "Kendu" Isaacs on Tuesday in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.
Blige and Kendu Isaacs attend the 21st Annual Critics' Choice Awards at Barker Hangar on January 17, 2016. But, in the divorce filing, the soulstress asked the judge to block Martin's ability to get spousal support, TMZ said. The date of separation was listed as "to be determined".
The two married in 2003 and Isaacs has served as Mary's manager in the past.
Although the now-former couple has no children, things could become tumultuous, as they have no prenuptial agreement.
We reached out to Blige and Isaacs - so far, no word back. In an interview with Stella magazine in 2014, Blige opened up about the difficulties of balancing their married life together with their professional working arrangement.
Watch Mary J. Blige perform a special tribute for Jada Pinkett Smith at VH1's Dear Mama.
"All females for me, all guys for him", she explained to Access Hollywood. If one of you doesn't want to talk about something right now, you have to respect that. "I've never seen that work".
