How to easily get verified on Twitter

Twitter has for years offered verified accounts, which help brands and public figures establish the authenticity of their accounts and access additional features, including special filters and opt-out from group Direct Messages.

"We hope opening up this application process results in more people finding great, high-quality accounts to follow, and for these creators and influencers to connect with a broader audience", Tina Bhatnager, Twitter's vice president of user services, said in a prepared statement. The company this week opened the verified account designation up to all users and put some rules in place for consideration.

According to Twitter, anyone can apply, but they must ensure they adhere to strict guidelines, which include having a bio photo, a verified email and a telephone number.

Currently, there are 1.87 lakh verified accounts on Twitter, which was the first platform to introduce the system for social media profiles in 2009.

Surely you've seen that little blue tick next to the Twitter name of your favourite actor, artist, or website.

Tweets will also need to be made public.

Use a username that reflects your real name, or the company you work for (if you are tweeting on its behalf).

Twitter may ask you to provide further information about yourself and your account when considering verification.

Those interested in getting their twitter account verified can do by clicking this link. The second is to get Kylie Jenner to retweet that banging Lip Kit selfie it took 450 shots to flawless, and the third to get your profile officially verified on Twitter. Provide at least two URLs to showcase your newsworthiness or relevancy in your field.

Once you submit your request, Twitter will then take some time to deliberate and will contact you over email to deliver the good, or bad, news.
