Spider-Man: Homecoming Footage Previewed at Comic-Con

Again we have no footage to show you, but we do have a couple of juicy plot details including the fact that Lupita Nyong'o will play a character called Nakia in the film who may be corrupted into a villain called Malice by Michael B Jordan's baddie Killmonger, and that she's excited to "kick some ass".

We knew we were going to get to see some new footage from Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at tonight's San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel, but in a delightful surprise, we also caught a glimpse at Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Tom Holland was introduced as the new Spider-Man in this year's Captain America: Civil War, co-starring with Robert Downey, Jr., and Downey, Jr. will reprise his role of Tony Stark/Iron Man, while Civil War alum Marisa Tomei will once again play Peter Parker/Spider-Man's Aunt May. "Wouldn't you really want to tell everyone that you're Spider-Man?" he said "If you had to keep that secret, it would drive you insane". "Every journey. Has a beginning". Cut back to Peter not being able to respond to the high school girl.

The film, described as John Hughes-esque, has already begun filming the story of Spider-Man navigating the waters of high school and the superhero world. We see high school yearbook photos of all the marvel characters, which appear to be real high school yearbook photos of the marvel stars. "During the short clip, also cited by Screen Rant, viewers learned that Tony Revolori ('The Grand Budapest Hotel") is playing Parker's classmate Flash Thompson. In Chemistry, Parker works on his web fluid on the side. First up - 9:30 - Science class, where he's definitively not paying attention, instead watching himself swing around Giant Man's legs in footage from Civil War's climactic airport sequence. For more on Spider-Man: Homecoming, keep it locked to IGN.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is scheduled for release July 7, 2017.
