House Speaker Paul Ryan said he was "sickened" by Trump's remarks and angrily revoked an invitation for the real estate mogul to appear at a GOP event Saturday in Wisconsin.
Republican strategist Ron Bonjean said "this feels like it is quickly becoming a political "game over" for Trump. That person spoke on the condition of anonymity, because they were not authorized to share the private discussion.
Many GOP leaders and lawmakers condemned Trump's language. However, two Utah Republicans, Gov. Gary Herbert and Rep. Jason Chaffetz withdrew their endorsements, and former Gov. Jon Huntsman did call for the candidate to step aside and let Pence take his place.
Trump has also said he favors "extreme vetting" of people trying to enter the United States from countries that have serious terrorism problems.
Trump was riding in an "Access Hollywood" bus with host Billy Bush, heading to the set of "Days of Our Lives" to talk about Trump's cameo on the show. "I did try and fuck her".
