Jim Carrey looks like he could be in some serious trouble ...
The mother of Jim Carrey's ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the actor, accusing him of knowingly infecting her daughter with three STDs and supplying her with an abundance of prescription pills, which ultimately led to her suicide a year ago.
Jim Carrey was hit with a wrongful death lawsuit by the mother of Cathriona White (left).
The lawsuit is the second such that Carrey has been served with, after White's estranged husband Mark Burton filed a similar suit in September.
Brigid then went on to call Jim "heartless", "outlandish", "exploitative", "despicable", "abhorrent", "outrageous", "opportunistic" and "pure evil", in the document, and claims that her daughter was distraught over the fact that Jim, 54, gave her oral and genital herpes, as well as chlamydia, which can leave women sterile.
She says Carrey accused Cathriona of contracting the diseases from someone else and ended the relationship by telling her: 'You have become too much drama'.
The lawsuit claims the actor used people to try and "shut her up" with Cathriona eventually agreeing to sign papers and stay silent about the STDs because she was so scared of him.
White was found dead in her Los Angeles home on September 24, 2015, surrounded by four prescription medications - Ambien, Percocet, Propranolol and Zofran - not in her name.
Sweetman alleges that Carrey gave White "three STDs without warning her (Herpes I and II and Clamidia), lying to her about it, "dumping" her out of concern for saving his own carefully crafted public image, calling her a "whore" and shaming her, and then using his high-priced Hollywood lawyers and "fixers" to intimidate and threaten her in an effort to silence her". "White ending her life". Mark's lawsuit included text messages that were allegedly between Jim and Cathriona, discussing the STDs. "And he should be ashamed for how he has used his Hollywood attorneys to badmouth Cat's husband Mark with the hope that nobody will hold him responsible for what he did", she sai in a statement. "This is a desperate, bogus claim made by the "husband" of the sham marriage", Carrey's attorney Martin Singer told TMZ.
"Mr Carrey has suffered a great deal in the a year ago with the suicide of the woman he dearly loved, and it is outrageous that he should be subjected to this predatory lawsuit".
"Every mother and father that has a daughter should read Cat's handwritten letter to Jim and decide for themselves what kind of guy he really is".
