At a press conference in Lucknow, when infighting within the Samajwadi Party was at its peak, MP and close confidante of Mulayam Singh Yadav Amar Singh said: "One leader who can not even speak proper Hindi is projecting himself as a big neta and is calling the shots in Samajwadi Party.
In Lakhimpur, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of "manipulating facts and figures about UP".
In an interview to a news website, Aparna also said she will not seek reservation for her daughter though she comes from a Yadav (Other Backward Caste) family.
Mulayam, a wrestler-turned politician, also said Akhilesh will be the chief minister again, a sharp contrast to his earlier stand that the new leader will be selected by the new MLAs.
Akhilesh today addressed six election rallies in Sitapur as part of his vigorous campaigning in the state.
"SP and Congress alliance will form a government in UP". The Congress and SP workers were stunned.
Reacting to Modi's remark on poor law and order situation in the State, Akhilesh said, "God knows from where the PM obtained figures (about UP).The Prime Minister should have honestly put up correct figures before the people". "How much ill-gotten money is there". He even asked the SP workers to contest 105 seats which are being given to the Congress as an agreement. "I am completely against this alliance, I won't campaign", Mulayam Singh had said.
"Vote for Samajwadi Party for taking this process to the logical conclusion where every citizen will be covered by the benefits of development and prosperity, " said Akhilesh.
A sulking Mulayam Singh Yadav had then accepted defeat. Akhilesh Yadav has quelled the power tussle within his family and has emerged the undisputed leader of Samjwadi Party.
