17-Year-Old Mowed Down By Out Of Control Mercedes In Delhi

Another shocking incident of hit and run took place in the national capital on Sunday where a speeding vehicle hit a 17-year-old boy named Atul Arora who was riding a scooter.

A senior police official said that they received a PCR call at around 10.33 pm about the accident in GH Block near DDA market.

The incident occurred at around 2300 hrs last night when the deceased identified as Atul Arora was returning home on his scooter after dropping his friend, police sources said today. The boy was driving a scooter when a speeding Mercedes lost control and rammed into his scooter. Hospital declared him brought dead after initial aid. The impact of the accident was such that the victim was flung in the air and sustained severe head injuries. "It belongs to a Mercedes auto", the DCP added. "We had planned a trip out of the city to celebrate that as well as his Class 11 result", his grandmother told IANS. The CCTV cameras in the nearby area are being scanned for clues. He is survived by his parents and two elder sisters.
