According to a report in the Las Vegas Sun, burglars armed with sledgehammers smashed the glass entrance of the store, which was apparently closed for the night.
Authorities say initial reports indicated there was an active shooter but that proved to be false. The suspects stole "valuable" items from the store.
It began to transpire that men dressed with pig masks entered the hotel to rob a Rolex store. The Bellagio remained on lockdown for about 30 minutes after the incident.
The legendary Bellagio Resort and Hotel is on the Las Vegas Strip and is recognizable for its dramatic, choreographed fountain shows. When it wouldn't start, they tried to carjack someone else, and then tried to run away, the Sun reported.
