Thanks to a deal with Netflix, he's back in a big way. The first, Dave Chappelle: The Age of Spin, was filmed in Los Angeles last March, and the second, Dave Chappelle: Deep in the Heart of Texas, was filmed at Austin City Limits Live in April 2015. He's now touring in preparation for his third Netflix special, whose date has yet to be announced. This is an exciting time as it follows up with previous rumors of him filming specials in the last couple years. We're curious to see how those subjects come together.
The premiere of these stand-up events marks Chappelle's first aired concert specials in 12 years.
The trailer drop comes after it was announced in late 2016 that Chappelle would release three specials, two of them from his personal comedy vault. So far, the premiere date hasn't been revealed.
He has starred in hit films like Robin Hood: Men in Tights, The Nutty Professor, and You've Got Mail, among others, as well as headlined - and later infamously walked away from - Chappelle's Show.
On Thursday, Netflix announced that the premere for two of the stand-up specials will be Tuesday, March 21, which is basically tomorrow.
