Seahawks quarterback Trevone Boykin was reportedly arrested following a auto crash early Monday morning in Dallas.
Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Trevone Boykin has been arrested in Dallas after police say he was in a vehicle that hit seven people on a sidewalk near a bar.
Several people sustained injuries in the crash, though none were life-threatening.
Boykin faces charges of suspicion of possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and public intoxication, according to Dallas County Jail records.
None of the people hit in the incident were seriously injured.
Boykin was the starting quarterback for TCU in 2014 and 2015. Boykin reached a plea deal to reduce what would've been a third-degree felony to a resisting arrest misdemeanor charge. He was fined $1,500, required to take anger-management and alcohol-awareness courses and given probation for one year.
This is the second time in less than two years that Boykin has found himself in trouble with the law.
It is also worth noting that the young signal caller has served as the backup for fellow Seahawks' quarterback Russell Wilson since the start of the 2016-2017 season. He made five appearances, throwing for 145 yards, one touchdown and one interception. "We are still gathering information and are disappointed", the Seahawks said in a statement.
