Honda Cars India Launches WR-V Compact SUV

Honda Cars India has finally launched the highly anticipated WR-V in India at Rs 7.75 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The Honda WR-V is available in two grades S and VX in both Petrol and Diesel variants and would be available with a choice of six color options: Premium Amber Metallic (New), Modern Steel Metallic, White Orchid Pearl, Carnelian Red Pearl, Alabaster Silver Metallic and Golden Brown Metallic.
The WR-V is an all-new model based on the Jazz platform. India is the first market in the world to get the WR-V and subsequent launches of this auto in other ASEAN markets are expect to follow soon.
The WR-V is offered in two variants, namely; the S and VX and takes some design cues from the Jazz hatchback. This all new premium model from Honda comes with sporty stylish design as well as advanced technology and spacious cabin. It gets 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, cruise control, unique style cockpit style instrument cluster, fabric upholstery, Multi-Information Display with Tripmeter and Fuel Level Indicator, 7 Step Illumination Control and much more. The base diesel S MT variant gets a pricing of INR 8.79 lakh while the top spec diesel model VX loaded with segment best features is priced at INR 9.99 lakh (All prices ex-showroom Delhi). The petrol unit gets a 1.2L SOHC i-VTEC engine that has 6000rpm of horsepower at 110NM torque, mated to a 5MT gearbox. The petrol engine delivers a claimed ARAI fuel efficiency of 17.5 kmpl, while the diesel offers 25.5 kmpl of fuel economy.
This is the second SUV-type vehicle from Honda after it brought out the BR-V previous year. There is no automatic variant now on offer. Safety features are more or less standard and includes- ABS with EBD, Dual SRS airbags, immoblizer, front and rear defogger, Day night IRVM and brake override system. "Around 40 per cent of the total bookings have been made for the top-end variant of the model", Ueno said.
