David Moyes:"The players are doing everything they can - in training and in games - to stay in the Premier League". The Scot appeared to irk the Spaniard with his stifling tactics in the first leg of the quarter final, but the Bundesliga club would eventually progress in the second.
"We've got games coming up - we don't have to show it, we have to do it".
It doesn't matter where they are in the league.
"I think when you have such a strong person like Guardiola coming in, the changes are too big and the players are finding it hard to apply it".
"We were passing the ball between ourselves in the last 25 minutes", said Guardiola, whose charges can usurp Tottenham and go second with victory at home to mid-table Stoke on Wednesday.
Speculation about Guardiola and Aguero having a frosty relationship has reared its head on more than one occasion this season and those rumours were at their most persistent following the arrival of Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras in January.
Not for the first time, Aguero's finishing instincts in front of goal embellished what was never more than a workmanlike display against Sunderland. Yep, it can mean only one thing - a team filled with confidence on their way for a stroll at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland were dealt a blow after 69 minutes as Darren Gibson picked up and was replaced by former City midfielder, Jack Rodwell.
Will spiderman make an appearance this year? David Moyes's side had done enough to go in at least level and were unfortunate when Jermain Defoe struck the post from distance mid-way through the half. "We are there behind Chelsea, who are nearly unstoppable, but we are there for the rest of the teams".
- Tbooksbluearmy: it all depends on whether they bought Denayer or not. "I hope our players understand the position that we're in, but we're not panicking".
Few would have given them much chance of addressing that situation against high-flying City.
"We know how tough it's going to be; I was able to see a great game against Monaco so we know what they're capable of, and I think everyone expected that at the start of the season".
