A game-by-game look at what awaits the Patriots in 2017

The Patriots are scheduled to play in five nationally-televised games during the regular season, including two at Gillette Stadium.

The thing I always look for in schedules: How many elite QBs do you have to face? .

Kansas City has the second-toughest strength of schedule in 2017, so I was anxious the National Football League would end up making the Chiefs' brutal schedule even worse. The game will be the Patriots' third regular-season game played outside the United States. But of course, life can take over at times and it's not easy to free up your time to see all 16 games.

Two. Drew Brees in week two, but the good news there is the Patriots open the season on Thursday night, so they get extra rest before playing an average team.

New England's only Monday night game is set for December 11 at Miami.

Week 7: Sunday, Oct. 22 vs. Atlanta Falcons, 8:30 p.m.

It won't be a rematch of Super Bowl LI, instead the Chiefs will be on hand rather than the Falcons. But the Patriots probably don't mind a few weeks of warm-ups before their grudge match against the team from which they stole the title.

Sunday, Sept. 24: Houston, 1 p.m. The Patriots hosted the Jets last Christmas Eve.

So, without further ado, let's break down the New England Patriots 2017 schedule.

Sunday, Oct. 1: New England vs. Carolina, 1:00 p.m.

This game will be intriguing for the mere fact that it comes on a neutral site against the Raiders.

Sunday, Sept. 17: at New Orleans, 1 p.m.

STAMFORD - NBC Sports announced Thursday its coverage plans for the 2017 National Football League season, a broadcast and digital campaign that will span from the opening game to the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs were one of the AFC's best team, and yet the Patriots still blew out the Steelers in the AFC champions after Pittsburgh beat Kansas City a round earlier.

Week 14 - at Dolphins - Mon.
