Trump's Mar-a-Logo Trips Could Be Funding These Government Programs

Mr Trump, who dislikes spending the night away from home and has been adapting to life at the White House, has rarely ventured far from the executive mansion or his Mar-a-Lago retreat in West Palm Beach, Florida during his first 85 days in office.
He arrived at his club host before 10 a.m., and the White House staff has not yet said what he's doing - which is usually a good indication of what's he doing.
As early as February, outlets like CBS News, Politico and CNN began applying an estimated cost of $3.6 million per trip to Trump's visits to Mar-a-Lago. He returned there on Thursday, making a trip for Easter weekend - his seventh since taking office - that included near-daily stops at his golf resort in West Palm Beach.
If he never took another trip to Mar-a-Lago, he would have to remain president for 171 years to make up the difference.
On paper the expenses to the highway patrol added up to $3,575 for the first weekend and $5,786 for the second weekend, a small amount of money compared to the cost to Palm Beach County, where Mar-a-Lago is located.
However, the author of that report, Brian Lepore, told the Associated Press this week that it would be a mistake to apply that figure to Trump's visits to Florida. So it didn't come as a surprise to us.
The CBS News report quotes Washington University Law Ethics Professor Kathleen Clark: "The bottom line on how much it's costing the taxpayers is absolutely something I think the public and Congress has the right to know". "We are in such trouble that I am going to spend a lot of time here".
Both McMaster and McFarland also talked up the role China could play in bringing North Korea to heel - and urged some patience on that front.
White House spokesman Sean Spicer says he had let Trump down with his "inexcusable and reprehensible" comments comparing the use of poison gas by Assad to the atrocities of Adolf Hitler.
He subsequently lamented the fact that there was still anger surrounding his failure to release his tax returns, called for inquiries into the payments behind the rallies, and reiterated his electoral college victory.
But the Florida weekend has wrapped up, as Donald, Melania, and Barron were seen on boarding Air Force One before heading back to DC on Sunday afternoon.
