Honor 8 Lite with 5.2-inch display, 12MP rear camera launched in…

Huawei sub-brand Honor today debuted a new Android smartphone in India, the Honor 8 Lite. Under the hood, there's a 64-bit 2.1GHz octa-core Hi-Silicon Kirin 655 chipset, accompanied by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Additionally, the Honor 8 Lite will only be available in a black color variant initially, followed by blue color later this month. The Honor 8 Lite will come with 15 month service warranty, along with Honor's door pick-up and drop after sales facilities. However, the Honor 8 Lite is a mid-range device and that fantastic flatback dual-camera setup that we saw on the Honor 8 is missing in this younger sibling.

The Honor 8 Lite comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, the same combination that the Honor 8 had, and with the build as well, there are some similarities. The front and back feature 2.5D curved-edge glass with a metal frame all around, similar to Samsung's Galaxy A-series. The Honor 8 Lite is simply a more affordable Honor 8 and misses out on the latter's dual camera system. The Honor 8 Lite has been priced at Rs.17,999 and will go on sale in India starting tomorrow through Honor's network of offline stores across the country. The smartphone has been launched in India in Premium Black and Blue colour options.

Additionally, the camera app of the smartphone comes with a new customizable menu settings giving users the flexibility to choose from a wide range of shooting modes and design their camera interface according to their shooting preferences and habits. The device is powered by the company's in-house Kirin 655 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage which can be further expanded (up to 128GB) via a microSD card slot.

The Honor 8 Lite features a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, autofocus and LED flash. On the front is an 8MP sensor with a 77-degree wide-angle lens. Connectivity specs include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, and 4G LTE. It runs EMUI 5.0 (based on Android 7.0 Nougat) and packs in a 3,000mAh battery. It measures 137.2 x 72.94 x 7.6 mm and weighs 147 grams. There is a fingerprint sensor in the back, under the camera.
