Apple Watch to enhance fitness monitoring using NFC tag reading

Apple watchOS 4 will be available this fall as a free update to Apple Watch paired with iPhone 5s and later on iOS 11. That includes several new watch faces, like a Siri-powered face that'll intelligently show information throughout your day.

Siri intelligence expands further with new proactive Siri Watch Face. This new version of the app include auto-set for pool workouts, personalized achievement updates, and smarter coaching. You have the music world in your hands. But now that the first developer preview of the software has been released, so have release notes for the future OS upgrade for the fourth-generation Apple TV.

Rounding out the new watchOS 4 features announced today is a new dock that'll allow you to vertically scroll through recent apps, an updated Music app that'll automatically pull in new Apple Music playlists, and a handful of new dev tools.

In watchOS 4, the Music experience is getting a redesign and revamp. In the demonstration shown by Apple this week, the Apple Watch attained information from gym equipment using NFC. This solution should fix that issue by making sure both devices have access to the most accurate data. Apple recently bought the sleep tracking app Beddit and we expect some of those features to be included on the Apple Watch 3 as well as watchOS 4. These are the cute animated characters we all know and love, including Woody, Buzz and Jesse.

Apple also introduced new summer band colours, giving customers more options to choose from.

If the Nike + bracelets are inspired by the colors of the Day To Night pack of the Air VaporMax, the Nike bubble sneaker, other Sport bracelets for the Series 2 are also available. As a celebration of diversity and inclusion, Apple is also offering a Pride Edition Woven Nylon in rainbow stripe.

This week Apple's Kevin Lynch stood on stage at WWDC 2017 and spoke about the next big update to the Apple Watch.
