Subaru teases another hotter, STI-tuned model

In the image we see a giant winged spoiler mounted to the back of a BRZ Coupe auto with the STI logo emblazoned on the side.

Subaru appears to be expanding its STI performance line. But according to Motor1.com, the Type RA will receive a carbon fiber roof, as seen in the teaser photo, a carbon fiber rear wing, upgraded suspension with Bilstein dampers, and Recaro seats. It's worth pointing out that Japan's BRZ tS STI did not actually come with a power boost, so there's a distinct possibility it will be the same story with the new version for Canada and the United States.

Would a BRZ STI with a 300-hp turbo engine be incredible?

As of the moment, there is not much specs to go on regarding the upcoming Type RA. They will pre-launch the new WRX STI Type RA by trying to set a new lap record for a four-door sedan at the Nurburgring track later this summer. However while Subaru has also made noise about an upcoming Nurburgring four-door lap record announcement with its hard-core WRX STI Type RA NBR Special, we're not entirely sure that's the vehicle being teased here. It's marked out by red detailing in the grille, extra bonnet vents and a pretty big rear wing.

Subaru confirmed to AutoGuide that it will unveil two different performance variants on June 8. Back then, it was a lighter, more aggressive performance version of the WRX. So it remains to be seen whether and when Subaru will introduce the hotter version of the BRZ in other worldwide markets.
