This event took place about three months before Ogundimu reclaimed the Doomfist weapon during the Numbani airport attack.
"Doomfist" is actually a moniker assumed by a number of characters in Overwatch lore, but Akande Ogundimu is not one of the previously named characters: Akinjide Adeyemi, known as "the Scourge" and Adhabu Ngumi, known as "the Savior". This backstory adds some intriguing context to the events leading up to the Numbani which have been teasing players since the announcement of the last hero Orisa. Medical records of the casualties reveal injuries and cellular degeneration matching other incidents involving the mercenary known as the Reaper, all but confirming the incursion as a Talon attack.
Doomfist has been hyped since the first Overwatch cinematic trailer. Initially, security reported that there were not any passengers on board according to radar scans. That's a good thing because though Jeff from the Overwatch team has joked about another ridiculously long ARG to announce their next hero, he knows full well that nobody wants that even a little bit.
"The unidentified assailant easily overcame the Helix security agents, leaving over a dozen dead".
There were possibly other security breaches in the attack, but Helix declined to reveal if there were other prisoners who escaped or other items taken.
"After escaping from the facility, Helix lost track of Ogundimu until he resurfaced in Numbani, where he clashed with the newly introduced OR15 defense robots at the Adawe International Terminal, easily destroying them and reclaiming the Doomfist".
Doomfist, the name of a long-lost Disturbed album and probably also a villain in season 57 of Power Rangers, is today's big Overwatch discussion topic.
In the here and now, this latest teaser suggests that Doomfist will be coming out sooner rather than later.
