Paul George Trade Rumors: Talks Between Celtics, Pacers Reportedly Ongoing

The Boston Celtics still want Paul George, but they're not prepared to give up that much to get him.

For salary-cap purposes, Boston wants a Hayward commitment before it can finalize a trade for George and secure the most dynamic free-agent coup in franchise history, league sources said.

Despite Paul George publically stating he will not resign with the Indiana Pacers, the team is still asking for a high return for the star forward.

The Celtics hope to lure Gordon Hayward away from the Jazz.

Teams can negotiate terms and deals with available talent starting this weekend but there is a moratorium on signing any contracts until next Thursday.

Prtichard recently told an Indianapolis reporter that he could picture George in a Pacers uniform for the start of training camp. We already know George has informed his Indiana Pacers that he will not re-sign with them next summer.

Murphy also reported that the Pacers asked for quite a haul when dealing with the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers in negotiations. He has vowed to play through next season with IN but the four-time All-Star intends to leave when his contract expires next year. The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski recently reported IN believes the Celtics can put together the best package, but the Pacers should need to drop their asking price for a deal to get done.
