The Blues forward has apparently already bid farewell to his teammates as he nears ever closer to a reunion with his former Club.
However, ESPN believe that there is no agreement between the two clubs for the transfer of Costa, and thus he will be expected to meet up with the Chelsea squad on Monday for training.
The Premier League champions have no plans to allow Costa extended leave from training until an agreement is reached for his sale, despite the fact that his relationship with Conte appears damaged beyond fix and he has reportedly begun to say goodbye to his Chelsea teammates.
Costa was a prolific scorer for Atleti netting 43 goals in 94 appearances, and could very well be on his way back to Spain as manager Diego Simeone focuses on new recruitment's after their league and Champions League disappointment.
While Costa looks increasingly likely to sign for Atletico Madrid when their transfer ban is lifted in January, the Blues still feel they may have a last minute shot at Lukaku.
Chelsea refused to sell Costa to Chinese Super League interests in January, a fee that was rumored to reach as high as $100 million.
It will be Costa's third spell at the Spanish capital side where he earned his status by inspiring Atletico to a league title over Real Madrid and Barcelona.
