In addition to Marshall, wide receiver Tavarres King also went down after re-injuring his ankle, while Darius Powe was waived/injured on Tuesday with a hamstring injury.
McAdoo said the team will wait to see how Beckham responds to treatment. We're taking it day to day. An X-ray during the game was negative.
New York's coaching staff is sure to play it safe with the 24-year-old receiver ahead of the 2017 season, as the Giants have remained adamant that Beckham is in their long-term plans despite his current contract situation.
One of the biggest topics of the National Football League this offseason was, will the New York Giants offer Beckham a pretty hefty contract extension?
Fellow wideout Brandon Marshall attended Wednesday's practice but did not participate after injuring his shoulder on a hit from Browns rookie Jabrill Peppers during Monday's game. Manning threw one more pass to Marshall, who caught it for a two-yard gain on the final play of the half. McAdoo obviously would like to see his entire offense on the field for the game in which the starters get their longest stint of the preseason.
"No regrets", McAdoo said. It revealed the three-time Pro Bowler had a sprained left ankle.
"It was not going to be day-to-day", McAdoo said.
McAdoo did, though, make it a point to say that his words in that regard are carefully chosen.
First the Giants have preseason games on both Saturday against the Jets and next Thursday against the New England Patriots. So we're probably left to guess about Beckham's status until the Wednesday before the Giants' opener, when NY releases its first in-season injury report.
