Microsoft Surface Plus Program Lets Owners Upgrade Devices After 18 Months

To qualify for the upgrade, people must be able to return their used Surfaces in "good condition" and agree to a new 24-month payment plan, Microsoft said. Corporate customers using the plan can buy Surface devices for employees and pay in 18, 24, or 30-month installments. These financing options are designed to be flexible and help more people and businesses take advantage of the power of Surface to create, collaborate, learn, and get things done.
For example, a Surface Pro with Core m3 processor, 4 GB RAM, and 128 GB storage is $799, but with the Surface Plus program it's $33.29 a month for 24 months. It also revealed a new version of the Surface Pen, with color options to match its latest Windows 10 devices.
The Microsoft Surface Plus plan also promises best-in-class customer service and the option to add the complete extended service plan. The program is called the Surface Plus Program and it is for customers and businesses that want to put out less money upfront.
Microsoft's debut of the student payment plan comes just before school season starts in August.
Small and medium-sized businesses that are now enrolled in the Surface Membership program can take advantage of Surface Plus for Business program to enjoy the same enterprise-grade services and support under the Surface Plus for Business plan.
Office 365 for Business can be added to the agreement for an additional $8.25 per user, per month.
The Surface Plus program, which for now is exclusive to the USA, allows customers to spread the cost of a new Surface device across two years.
