When taken in conjunction with the 4GB of RAM as well as the 64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card), the new device will be a superb performer.
Samsung hasn't made a big official announcement but a product page on its Chinese website lists the details of the device. The company has released a new device with model number SM-G9298 which is dubbed as Leadership 8. At the heart of the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor which has four cores and will ensure superior performance.
On the device's rear is a 12 MP primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture, while a 5 MP snapper appears on the front, and a 2,300 mAh battery with support for wireless charging keeps it powered.
The Leader 8 sports vibrant 4.2-inch full HD AMOLED displays on both the inside and outside of the phone- so no matter how you're using it, there's always a screen to look at.
The South Korean electronics giant has packed the device with numerous features found in its flagship Galaxy S8 phone. The company also calls it "Leader". It runs on Android, and comes with modern features like Samsung Pay, S Voice, and all the usual Android Nougat trimmings. The phone will only come in one colour, Black, and is likely to go on sale in the near future.
The sad thing is that it seems the Leader 8 will only be available in China, and because it doesn't have a SIM card slot, importing one probably won't do you any good.
The device measures a fairly thick 15.9mm, weighs in at a relatively heavy 235 grams, and comes with a built-in T9 keyboard that will throw you back to 2002 in the best way possible. Chances are rare if the new flip phone by Samsung will ever hit the Indian shores.
