The animated GIF image Trump retweeted spliced together footage of Trump taking a swing on a golf course with footage of Clinton tripping and falling as she boarded a plane in 2011 as secretary of state.
In July he tweeted an edited video that shows him body-slamming a figure with the CNN logo superimposed on its face.
While some Twitter users praised Trump for his "sense of humour" following the golf ball retweet, others berated him.
Mr Trump often cites his electoral vote victory as evidence of campaign prowess and popularity with Americans.
Mr Trump has established a commission to investigate his unsubstantiated claims that millions of people voted illegally in 2016, when Mrs Clinton won the popular vote by almost 2.9 million votes.
Retweeting this kind of misogynistic video might be below the standards of even this President. And frankly, I think they're a little off, too. "It doesn't help in terms of the stature of our whole country", said Mr Schiff, a Democrat from California.
"Crooked Hillary Clinton blames everybody (and everything) but herself for her election loss".
It is not the first time Mr Trump has been accused of inappropriate Mr Trump repeatedly threatened to jail Ms Clinton during his campaign, encouraging chants of "lock her up", and vowed during a presidential debate to appoint a special prosecutor to pursue Ms Clinton - an extraordinary promise of political retribution.
The White House has criticised the book, with spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders calling it "sad" that the last chapter of Mrs Clinton's public life will be defined by selling books with "false and reckless attacks".
While most of the media will be concentrating on the fact that Trump tweeted an animation of him hurting Clinton, it is also interesting that he chose to tweet a GIF which shows him golfing. They expressed their feelings loud and clear.
