Trump embraces poll showing distrust of media

On taxes overall, 37 percent say they think their family would be "about the same" if the tax proposal passes, while 31 percent say they'd be "worse off" and another 24 percent say they'd be "better off".

Almost half of voters believe the news media fabricates stories about President Donald Trump and his administration, according to a new Politico and Morning Consult poll.

Thirty-seven percent of Americans approve of Donald Trump's job performance as president, while 57 percent disapprove, according to a new CNN poll.

According to a Morning Consult/Politico poll released Wednesday, about half of US voters think that mainstream news outlets push out false content, or crowd favorite "fake news", when publishing articles on US President Donald Trump.

The Politico poll, published Wednesday, found that almost 50 percent of Americans do, in fact, think that the media fabricates stories about Trump and his administration, while 37 percent don't.

But a slim majority - 51 percent - said the government shouldn't have the power to revoke broadcast news licenses for news organizations it believes are fabricating stories. He's been particularly irked the past few weeks after NBC News published a story that claimed his Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called him a "moron" and wanted to resign this summer.

After objecting to an NBC News report last week, Trump asked when it would be "appropriate" to challenge NBC's "license". But the media is absolutely dishonest - and frankly, I've never seen anything quite like it, " stated President Trump during a radio interview.

The poll, conducted October 12-15, surveyed 1,010 people. There is a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
