NYPD says it is building rape case against Harvey Weinstein

Hardly a week after actress Annabella Sciorra accused Harvey Weinstein of rape, actress Paz de la Huerta has alleged that Weinstein raped her twice in 2010.

The NYPD and Manhattan district attorney's office are both investigating allegations made by the "Boardwalk Empire" actress.

"He hushed me and said, 'Let's talk about this in your apartment, '" de la Huerta recalled to Vanity Fair after she tried to tell Weinstein to leave her alone. She told the publication that Weinstein then started to kiss her, and after she tried to brush him away, he pushed her onto the bed, with his trousers down, and lifted up her skirt.

After that, de la Huerta says Weinstein continued to call her and eventually showed up in the lobby of her building in December.

De la Huerta follows dozens of women who have come out against Weinstein alleging sexual harassment or assault. We then sought to garner corroboration - this happened seven years ago - and we found corroboration. We are actively investigating them.

De la Huerta told the news outlet that Weinstein began calling her after the incident and that she confronted him a month later at a Los Angeles hotel.

De la Huerta's allegations may be the first to result in charges being filed against Weinstein, according to NME magazine.

A warrant requires a court order, Boyce said.

"I was in no state", she said.

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they speak publicly, which de la Huerta and Guiterrez have done. "The investigation is on-going", the NYPD said in a statement Thursday night.

Weinstein, who was ousted from his own company amid the scandal, has repeatedly stated through a spokesman that "allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied".
