Shakhtar Donetsk will face AS Roma, while defending champions, Real Madrid booked a titillating face-off with Neymar's Paris Saint Germain.
Madrid pay the price for a slow start to the season that saw them unexpectedly finish runners-up to Tottenham in the group stage.
"For the potential of the two teams, luck has worked out this way and one of the two teams will be out at the last 16 stage, which we think is a bit soon taking into account they are two of the contenders for the title", Butragueno told BeIN Sports Spain. "We have to go game by game".
"I think when you play every three days, it is impossible to have a training session and to work on the physical aspects".
Former PSG defender Maxwell, now an ambassador for the Ligue 1 club, said on UEFA's website: "It's a good draw, with two good games to play".
Who are you backing in this tie? It will be nice. I like to win and when we lose, I'm not happy.
That would be a major blow for a club who spent the best part of £190m on a squad which was already strong enough to cruise to the Premier League title last season, and the possibility has left the club's board questioning whether Conte has done enough with the resources handed to him. "We are very optimistic, we are confident and want to keep going in this competition".
Among the other Premier League clubs, United, City and Liverpool will all be favourites to reach the quarterfinal stage after avoiding Madrid and Bayern, but Spurs must overcome a Juve side who - despite a relatively disappointing campaign so far - have reached two of the last three finals.
The Italian side will approach the tie with trepidation, having been eliminated in each of their past five European knockout ties with English teams.
