Melania skips Davos and heads to Florida

US First Lady Melania Trump will not be accompanying her husband to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, according to American media reports. "Yet it is also through our shared humanity that we come together now in commemoration, strength, and love".

The reason for Trump's Florida trip was not immediately clear and the White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"Thank you @HolocaustMuseum for a powerful & moving tour that honors the millions of innocent lives lost, and educates us on the tragedies and effects of the holocaust", FLOTUS tweeted, along with photos of her touring the museum.

President Donald Trump denies the affair took place, and Daniels denies she received $130,000 from Trump's attorney Michael Cohen to keep it covered up.

Stormy, real name Stephanie Clifford, is said to have romped with Trump in 2006, shortly after the birth of the Trump's son Barron, now 11.

After The Wall Street Journal broke the story on January 12, the first lady went with Trump to Mar-a-Lago in Florida for the holiday weekend but did not attend the two dinners he hosted - one with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and another with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Donald Trump's personal lawyer brokered a US$130,000 (NZ$177,000) payment to Daniels in October 2016 to prohibit her from publicly discussing the alleged affair before the USA election. However, on the evening of January 22, Grisham backtracked, telling CNN Melania Trump's trip was now off, citing "scheduling and logistical issues".

She has joined her husband on his other foreign trips.

Mrs. Trump on Thursday said she was visiting the museum in advance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Saturday to honour millions of people who were victims of the Nazis.
