Girl Scout cookies are back with 3 new flavors

Cookie box prices this year are $5 (pending on your area, but this is the norm) and 100% of the revenue from the cookie sales go directly back to the local troop for their incredible Girl Scout experiences!

Officials were trying to identify the girl and talk to her family because she was in a commercial area, which is not allowed, council spokeswoman Mary Doyle said in an email Monday. The scheme was so successful that she sold over 300 boxes in under six hours.

Urbn Leaf posted a photo of the industrious scout outside their shop on Super Bowl weekend and the story has gone viral.

Urbn Leaf founder Will Senn said the girl was passing by with her parents and wagon of cookies and he wanted to help them fundraise.

Cell phone video shows a 9-year-old selling Girl Scout cookies out of a wagon near a marijuana dispensary in San Diego.

"Cannabis is now legal in California and a direct result of that is the munchies a lot of times", he joked.

This answered many who questioned how a dispensary could be a registered booth site and assumed that the child and her parents had disregarded those rules as well.

Senn says marijuana is medicinal and not like alcohol.

This isn't the first time that a Girl Scout has been inspired by the obvious synergy of baked goods and stoners.

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest entrepreneurial program for girls in the world that teaches girls essential life skills, including goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.

Since the use of recreational marijuana became legal in California on January 1, Senn said it is rapidly becoming accepted.
