Google Pixel 2 users report warming phones and shortened battery life

Citibank has upped its end of the bargain here, bundling the handset with a Rs 10000 cashback so it's available at 54999. Most complaints seem to point to the problems occuring after installing this month's security update, though what might be causing these issues is still up in the air. Likewise, customers can also buy the Pixel 2 (128GB) at an effective price of Rs 50,999, down from its Market Operating Price (MOP) of Rs 58,999 following the cashback.

Google appears to be running a new promotion that knocks 20 percent off the price of the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL.

A toasty phone isn't the only problem users are experiencing; it seems the security patch has also negatively affected the battery life of some Pixel 2 handsets. The scheme is valid through Flipkart and select physical retailers till February 28.

Coming to the Google Pixel 2 XL, the 64GB storage variant of the device is available for Rs 54,999, down from its regular price of Rs 64,999 and the 128GB storage variant is available for Rs 63,999, down from its regular price of Rs 73,999. The HTC HTC-made Google Pixel 2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and comes with 5-inch full HD with 1080x1920 pixels resolution. The display comes along with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The Google Pixel 2 XL sports a 12.2-megapixel rear camera with 1.4-micron pixel size sensor, aperture f/1.8, optical image stabilisation, electronic image stabilization, dual pixel phase detection + autofocus with laser and 4K video recording. The company might have performed better as a new player in the smartphone business - but overall the Pixel 2 sales aren't great. It is backed by a 3520mAh battery and it promises to offer 7 hours battery backup in 15 minutes of charging.
