Bayern Munich, helped by two typical Thomas Mueller goals and two from Robert Lewandowski, romped to a 5-0 win over Besiktas in their tie after the Turkish champions played almost the whole match with 10 men.
In the first half, Bayern was limited to one goal scored, and after a break the efforts of Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller brought the score to indecent.
"Bayern could field two teams, they have a big squad with many top players", said the 65-year-old. Both of Thiago and Kimmich figure to see a lot of the ball as they pull the strings for a Bayern team that could see around 70% possession versus Besiktas.
"It wasn't for nothing that they won their group and all three away games in the last round".
Bayern Munich have equalled their club record winning run, and it always looked to be on the cards once Thomas Muller had opened the scoring against Besiktas.
Bayern all but secured their spot in the last eight of the Champions League with two goals from Muller, who struck either side of Kinglsey Coman, before Robert Lewandowski added a brace of his own.
But main striker Cenk Tosun, who scored four of their 11 goals in qualifying, joined Everton in January and Besiktas come into the tie on the back of being held by lowly Konyaspor last Friday.
Bayern's budget dwarfs that of Besiktas.
"If I express my emotions, I think I'm with Brazzo tomorrow (Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic) or in [Chairman Karl-Heinz] Rummenigge's office", he bluntly concluded.
With the result, Besiktas will have to overturn a 5-0 deficit on home soil at the second leg on March 14. For fans living in the United Kingdom, you can also live stream the game on the BT Sport Website. After a scoreless first leg in Ukraine in 2015, Bayern returned to the Allianz Arena and won 7-0 against Shakhtar Donetsk.
That said, Bayern Munich will fancy their chances of taking a decent advantage back to Turkey.
Since the Champions League's inception he's overseen 42 matches as Real and Bayern boss - including this evening's showdown - only suffering six defeats with one of those coming at home and the other being on neutral territory.
