IDF shoots, kills Palestinian preparing to throw Molotov cocktail at troops

Confrontations broke out near the West Bank cities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, where army troops used teargas and rubber bullets to disperse Palestinian protesters, eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in an e-mailed press statement that Mohamed Ja'barai, 24, was shot by Israeli soldiers in the chest during clashes in the the southern West Bank city of Hebron and died later in hospital. In December IDF soldiers killed a legless Palestinian man protesting near the Gaza border, Palestinian officials said, causing an global outcry.

A young Palestinian man was killed Friday during violent riots in Hebron. There were no reports of injuries to IDF forces.

The border is a frequent site of clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces.

The Health Ministry in Gaza also reported three wounded in clashes by the border with Israel, one severely and two moderately.

Palestinian groups have called for clashes with Israeli forces to protest the USA administration's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital and relocate the U.S. embassy to the city.

Palestinian people have been protesting against US President Donald Trump's decision, issued on December 6, on recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital and relocating the American embassy to the holy city.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has invited Trump to visit Israel for the occasion.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said on Friday that the group would not be able to contain the mass protests on the day the USA moves its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
