Michelle Wolf Speaks Out On White House Correspondents Dinner Controversy

U.S. President Donald Trump is assailing the White House correspondents' annual dinner celebrating the country's free speech guarantees after a comedian performing at the affair unleashed a string of barbed jokes aimed at Trump and his aides.

Being inconsistent about a perspective on consistency is peak 2018!

Wolf was heavily criticized for her comedy routine which some found vulgar, especially in regards to White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders whom the "Daily Show" contributor skewered at the event.

Morgan pointed to Wolf's previous comments in which she said what bothered her about Trump was his focus on women's "age and beauty".

FOLKENFLIK: The argument is that Michelle Wolf is using Sarah Huckabee Sanders, a woman, and taking her down on the basis, in some ways, of her gender and the role that she plays in a way that wouldn't be done to a man.

"Oh good", said Meyers.

"I think sometimes they look at a woman and they think 'Oh, she'll be nice, ' and if you've seen any of my comedy you know that I don't - I'm not".

"You guys are obsessed with Trump".

"My only regret is that to some extent those 15 minutes are now defining four hours of what was a really wonderful unifying night and I don't want the cause of unity to be undercut", Talev said Sunday on CNN's "Reliable Sources".

I don't think I even need to say this because you just saw it. He's helped you sell your papers and your books and your TV. "You know, a press briefing, a bunch of lies, or divided into softball teams", Wolf joked.

In a odd way, Trump, who has coarsened political rhetoric, has actually raised the bar of civility for the media.

Tapper then listed several of Trump's most controversial attacks, including dismissing Sen. It's a symbiotic cycle where everybody wins.

On last night's Late Show, Colbert kicked off his opening monologue by speaking about the Wolf fiasco.

Wolf began her set by assuring the room that she didn't have an agenda.

Said Meyers of Wolf: "She is filthy and she is mean, which is what we love about her, because those are wonderful qualities for comedians and awful qualities for free world leaders".

She's a fucking comedian.

Defenders of the comedienne praised her act saying she was only calling out the President and his aides' constant lying and distortion and Trump deserved to get what he often dished out.
