The service will feature "thousands of playlists, the official versions". The YouTube Red offered premium content, music streaming and access to original programs without ads. Existing subscribers, who are already paying $9.99 a month, will be transfered to a YouTube Music Premium subscription automatically. "On Tuesday, May 22, we'll be changing that by introducing YouTube Music".
Now You: What is your take on YouTube Music Premium and YouTube Premium?
The new YouTube Music experience will be available on May 22.
"YouTube Music includes a reimagined mobile app and brand new desktop player that are designed for music".
Subscribers to Google Play Music get YouTube Music Premium added to their subscription without additional cost. The YouTube Music webpage allows you to register yourself so you can be notified whenever Google decides to come to your country.
So where does this leave Google Play Music?
Let's start with YouTube Premium, which is replacing YouTube Red.
Nothing is official just yet, but if the launch window of next week is the real deal, we should be hearing more from Google very soon. Not only do you have to pay $2 extra for the YouTube Premium but you will also need to shell out another $10 for the YouTube Music and that climbs up to a $12 extra/month.
YOUTUBE is joining the music streaming landscape with the launch of YOUTUBE MUSIC. In addition, the access to entire collection of YouTube Originals including Youth & Consequences, Step Up: High Water, and Cobra Kai.
YouTube also revealed that its subscription service, YouTube Red, is being rebranded as YouTube Premium and this will include access to YouTube Music. "For the first time, all the ways music moves you can be found in one place".
The platform is also planning to launch a new premium service that will charge more for its original shows. Both offer to remove the ads and let you watch your drivel offline.
Music Premium will cost $9.99 a month - and we assume £9.99 in the United Kingdom - although if you already subscribe to Google Play Music you will be automatically be given a YouTube Music Premium subscription to run alongside the Google one.
