Zidane unconcerned by Cristiano Ronaldo's injury

Ronaldo appeared to sustain a knock to his ankle as he bundled home a 14th-minute equaliser for Real at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona and Real Madrid battled to a 2-2 draw in a Clasico that saw tempers flare and Lionel Messi and Gareth Bale score brilliant goals.

The challenge from Gerard Pique had come as Ronaldo cancelled out Luis Suarez's opener before Sergi Roberto was sent off on the stroke of half-time for an altercation with Real defender Marcelo.

The French manager has confirmed that it's a minor injury and it looks unlikely to rule him out of the Champions League final against Liverpool at this point.

Speaking about Iniesta before the match, Zidane had given a glowing tribute: 'As I said in my press conference the other day, he is a player we all admirer. "He is a little anxious because his ankle is a bit swollen but he said it was only minor".

His injury, however, coupled with Barcelona avoiding defeat, despite playing a man down for the whole of the second half, will mean the Catalans depart the happier side.

Barcelona has three matches left to become the first team to go unbeaten in the competition since the 1930s, when it consisted of 10 teams compared to 20 now. "We played really well, generally, from the first minute to the last", Ramos said.

It was one of a number of questionable decisions from referee Alejandro Jose Hernandez Hernandez, as both teams departed wondering what might have been.

Suarez also had a goal ruled out for offside, while Madrid were denied a late penalty when Marcelo was tripped in the area by Jordi Alba.

"Next year it will change with VAR", Zidane said. You have to win the Champions League to get to the Club World Cup, and we are all in that.

'It's very hard for the referee, ' said Zidane after the game.

"I can't say how long he'll be out for, tomorrow he'll have a scan, but I think it'll be a small thing for him".

The thrilling nature of the match meant Andres Iniesta's last Clasico before leaving Barcelona at the end of the season was reduced to a footnote. "I am not breaking any tradition, but neither will I do something that they did not do".

The result: "We've experienced a great football match, and at the end it's a draw, which I'm not sure is deserved or not".
