Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition revealed with super-fast battery charging

While the pop-up mechanism is no doubt intriguing, it would be prone to breaking after a few [inevitable] drops - especially if you drop the device with the camera module in the open position.

Apart from being a top-end phone, Oppo Find X's highlight is a camera system that gets completely tucked into the top edge when the phone is switched off. Inside, there's Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 paired with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage.

After vivo introduced their NEX flagship smartphone, OPPO is stepping up with their own notchless all-screen smartphone that's named the Find X.

The device will be officially unveiled on June 19, at an event in Paris. The AI lets the camera automatically add beautification effects to your selfies, and there is also support for 3D emojis similar to what you find on the iPhone X. Some slight variations in price are also possible. Now new information about the Oppo Find X points out that the phone will have a screen-to-body ratio above 90 percent.

Without question, the OPPO Find X is the company's most attractive effort to date, an indication that OPPO has caught up with Apple and Samsung in the smartphone-design stakes.

As we can see from the shared images, the Oppo Find X smartphone has a nice shiny metal back with no camera sensors up front or at the back.

The screen does not have any notches or buttons and the space on the front will nearly entirely be occupied by the 6.42 inch AMOLED display. We went from candybar phones to clamshells, to sliders, back to the candybar (with every smartphone following that framework), and then in the pursuit to have bezel-less displays, phones are revising the slider format to hide elements like the front-facing camera.

You don't get wireless charging here though, which is a flagship feature Oppo has left out, we expect, to keep the cost down.

The Oppo Find X will run Color OS 5.1 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. The Find X is the first premium phone from the company after the Find 7 device, which was released in 2014.

On the plus side, the Find X is due for a global launch, which means it's already loaded up with Google's suite of apps - something the Vivo Nex is sorely lacking.

Making sure everything ticks is a 3,730mAh battery with support for Super VOOC charging technology. It offers 256GB internal storage as well.

The Oppo Find X price is €999 (around £870, $1,100, AU$1,500) for the 256GB model.

That said, pre-orders for the Find X begin today in China and will take weeks to reach anywhere else.

So how are we going to take pictures with this smartphone?
