Super manager, Gernot Rohr has dropped Nigeria Premier League hot shot, Junior Lokosa and four other players from the 30-man provisional list for Russian Federation 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria's Super Eagles on Wednesday left for London, where they take on England in a friendly this weekend as part of their final preparations for the World Cup in Russian Federation.
While rising star Moses Simon was expected to be sent home due to his untimely injury suffered in training, the Gent forward was surpringy informed to remain with the group.
"It's tough because we can't take all the 30 players to the World Cup", Ibitoye said.
"But I want to thank our coach & management for the opportunity!"
The 25-man travelling to London includes Premier League quintet of Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Ahmed Musa, Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi.
Despite being backed by Rohr in his pre-match conference prior to the DR Congo clash last Friday, Standard Liege midfielder Uche Agbo was dropped after he did not feature in any of the qualifiers, whilst NPFL goal banger Lokosa also misses out despite impressing in the game against Congo.
This much was disclosed by Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, who hinted that there is a need for him to know if Ndidi would be able to play at the World Cup before he rolls out his final list of 23 players for the global soccer showpiece.
