Real Madrid allows Ronaldo to join Manchester United

The Brazilian has always been linked with Liverpool and Real Madrid, but Chelsea are close to agreeing a $81.4 million fee.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had earlier reported that former Spain coach Julen Lopetegui became new manager at Real Madrid.

The Blues are closer to Roma in their evaluation of Alisson.

The 25-year-old has also established himself at worldwide level as he's been selected as Brazil's first choice goalkeeper ahead of Manchester City's Ederson and has helped the Samba Boys book their place in the last-16 after topping their group.

Earlier this week, the Serie A club's Roma sporting director Monchi suggested that the Brazilian could be sold this summer.

'The flawless answer would be to say that he's unsellable, but I can't say that because such a player doesn't exist'.

Telemadrid's report discusses a €50m bid for Asensio in 2017, which was obviously rejected by Real Madrid. They know that the player prefers a move to the Bernabeu.

Between then and the UEFA Champions League final in May, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan are said to have approached Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes to inform him they could meet that smaller clause, as well as offer the forward a net salary of €40 million.

However, it's fair to say they've already got their money's worth on him since signing him from Manchester United for £80 million in 2009.

Good news for Chelsea but not too bad for Real Madrid either.

Chelsea have been exploring potential replacements for Courtois and Alisson has emerged as one of their first choices. The Belgian has always been linked with a move to Madrid and one way or other Florentino Perez will be getting a new goalkeeper to replace Keylor Navas.
