LeBron Breaks His Silence About Joining The Lakers

Executive director of James' foundation, Michele Campbell teared up when talking to USA Today on Sunday, "Every one of these kids, maybe they don't become LeBron James on the basketball court, but they become the LeBron James of their passion and dream in life".

"When I was younger, I didn't have a dad, so my whole thing was whenever I have a kid, I'm going to do everything that this man didn't do", James said, adding: "It's up to them to take their own course, whenever that time comes".

James, who just signed a four-year, $153.3 million contract to join the Los Angeles Lakers, has been setting up deals all over town via his and Carter's SpringHill Entertainment.

The school, opening in a joint effort between the LeBron James Family Foundation and Akron Public Schools, will educate at-risk youth in Akron.

National Basketball Association superstar LeBron James has opened up about the one big regret he still has with regards to his oldest son. "He went to Akron public schools". Ten-year-olds out here hooping, why you feeling like this?

James' new school has several impressive features, including a grand set of curved stairways that greet visitors at the entrance, a unique "IPS" chandelier hanging from the trace ceiling, and 114 game-worn shoes lining the walls to the left and right.

Following his eighth straight appearance in the NBA Finals, James said he was still in "championship mode" as he headed into free agency. I've walked the same streets, I've rode the same bikes on the streets that they ride on.

Instead of going the route of a second superstar, mostly because Paul George made a decision to stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs were stingy with Kawhi Leonard, the Lakers chose to add veteran bench pieces on one-year deals. You look at the Lakers, and being able to play for a historic franchise, with so much history, you know?
