Ronaldo set to begin Italian adventure in intimate alpine friendly

Speaking to JuventusTV, as quoted by Goal, Ronaldo outlined why he chose Juve above anybody else.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus debut was forced to be cut short after supporters stormed the pitch to mob him and his team-mates during their final pre-season friendly on Sunday.

Controlling a long pass from Federico Bernardeschi, Ronaldo calmly looked around him to make sure he had time to take a touch, before slamming the ball into the top corner.

The five-time Ballon d'Or victor beat the offside trap with Federico Bernardeschi playing a ball over the top to put Ronaldo through one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

"An exciting day in a special place that tells the winning story of Juventus", Ronaldo wrote on Twitter after the game.

But anyway, you can see this excellent clip below as Dybala and Costa team up on five-time Ballon d'Or victor Cristiano Ronaldo. One said "Welcome Ronaldo" and another had his face on it and simply read CR7, in reference to the jersey number Ronaldo made famous as a Real Madrid player.

They were rewarded with a goal in the friendly between Juve's first XI and a youth "B" team from their new hero, who also took the time out to sign autographs and pose for selfies while many of his teammates sloped off to the dressing room.

The 33-year old didn't say it influenced his decision as such, but it helped strengthen his belief about Juventus supporters and the uniqueness they have.

He moved from Manchester United to Madrid in 2009, and became the Spanish club's all-time leading scorer with 451 goals in 438 matches.

Juventus kick off the defence of their Serie A title against Chievo on Saturday. Juventus has lost five finals since its last European Cup success.
