Chelsea vs Cardiff City : Sarri wants more goals from Hazard

Cardiff set up to disrupt Chelsea, but Maurizio Sarri may be concerned at just how convincingly they managed that.

Hazard is clearly thriving under Sarri's attack-minded approach having been shackled by Antonio Conte last season, particularly away from home when he was often asked to play in a false nine position which saw him starved of the ball.

Sarri's mood after the convincing victory was further improved with the news Mateo Kovacic's muscle problem, which forced him off early in the second half, had been deemed not to be serious.

"I can not change my mind for one match", Sarri said.

Another man-of-the-match performance took Hazard's tally to five goals and two assists in five Premier League appearances this season - an even more impressive feat considering he has completed 90 minutes only twice - and Sarri believes he is capable of becoming even more prolific.

Sarri is changing the way Chelsea play, looking to goals from Hazard, Pedro and Willian as Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud struggle to provide a striking spark.

The Reds opened up Saturday's Premier League fixtures with a 2-1 win over Tottenham at Wembley Stadium , which made it five wins in five games so far this season for the Anfield club.

"I told him... for me you can score 40 goals but you have to spend less energy".

Eden Hazard scored a hat-trick in the game to help Chelsea maintain their flawless start to the Premier League season.

"At the moment, I can answer Manchester City or Liverpool [are the contenders], he said".

"My target is to be the best team in England, but not in one month - maybe one season, maybe a little more". Chelsea are now second in the Premier League with 10 goals, and only defending champions Manchester City have more with 11. Fortunately, we have very strong young players: "Loftus-Cheek, Hudson-Odoi, Ampadu. and I'd like to give them the right space".

"We have got to learn quickly because these top teams punish you", said Warnock.
