Penn State WR Just Made The Catch Of The Year

Down by one point with only 1:22 left in Saturday's game against Ohio State, Penn State made a decision to run the ball on a four-and-five within Buckeye territory.

Haskins connected with Binjimen Victor, who weaved and slipped through tacklers for a 47-yard touchdown catch and run that cut it to 26-21 with 6:42 left. As loud and hostile as the Penn State white noise got, the noise turned nervous late as 110,889 people felt the Buckeyes closing in.

Penn State got the ball into Ohio State territory on its first play after that touchdown, but defensive end Chase Young made two big plays as the Buckeyes held on. They had the best player - a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender in Trace McSorley, who played out of his mind - and a 12-point lead with only 8 minutes to go. "The work that it's going to take to get to an elite program is going to be just as hard as the ground and the distance that we've already traveled". He also broke the school record for total offense, accounting for 461 of the Lions' 492 yards. Penn State stands atop the nation averaging 55.5 points per game after wins against App.

"I'm upset with myself", Penn State coach James Franklin said. Dating back to past year, Penn State has covered the spread in five of its last six.

Instead, for the second straight season, Ohio State made a fourth-quarter rally from a double-digit deficit.

Ohio State survived one of the most hostile environments in the country and while the performance wasn't ideal, it was a flawless example of how a championship team responds to adversity. Some went so far as to say it was the worst Penn State playcall since Joe Paterno chose to attempt a field goal on Alabama's 1-yard line in 1989. "We probably shouldn't have given up a touchdown with that sudden change (Sanders' fumble in the second quarter)". We just didn't make the play. The run game is being led by the duo of J.K. Dobbins and Mike Weber, who have combined for 622 yards and five touchdowns. He called the 96-yard drive for the winning touchdown "one of the great drives in Ohio State history".

But a fumble by Sanders on the first play after the seventh punt set Ohio State up at the Nittany Lions' 25-yard line with 2:32 left in the first half.

Ohio State visited Happy Valley on Saturday night to take on Penn State in a game that very well could decide the Big Ten East (and by proxy, the Big Ten) title. Then Penn State called another timeout. Ohio State had only 31 yards rushing and Haskins was just 7 of 16 for 62 yards after completing 75 percent of his passes in his first four starts. Sanders finished the game with 16 carries for 43 yards.
