HAPPENING NOW: Multiple People Shot At A Kentucky Kroger

Rogers said both the man and woman were shot multiple times.

An unnamed armed citizen in the parking lot exchanged gunfire with the suspect, police said, but neither was struck.

One person was found dead inside the store, and the other was found outside.

"I looked at her and she was, she was gone", he said. "Whites don't kill whites, '" Zinninger said.

Two people were shot and killed at a Kroger supermarket in Kentucky on Wednesday, according to reports.

"It does appear she was a random victim out in the parking lot", said Rogers.

Zinninger said the shooter casually walked towards his father in the parking lot and his father drew his gun and confronted the man from behind his vehicle.

Jason Riley of WDRB reported Thursday morning that a mental inquest warrant was taken out against Bush during his 2009 conviction of domestic assault case, in which he was ordered to take medication and taken to Central State Hospital. He said he went to the woman to start CPR on her but realised he couldn't help her.

Kroger released this statement: "We are shocked and saddened by the shooting incident that occurred around 2:30 p.m. today". The suspect fled the scene and was apprehended nearby, police said.

Mayor Greg Fischer said Thursday he's "sick and heartbroken" that two people were shot to death, and says the tragedy "hit close to home". Meanwhile, a dispatcher with the police department said a suspect was detained following the shooting.

The FBI released a statement saying that they are now assisting the police with their investigation and evaluating the evidence to determine if there were any violations of federal law.

"But at the city level, there's only so much that we can do".
