Winter Storm Expected to Bring Snow, Poor Travel Conditions

"It's going to be a mess out there", said Brad Adams, observing program leader with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls. Both the Thursday evening and Friday morning commute could be hard, the weather service is reporting.
Snow will be move into the Northeast from NY to ME from Thursday night into Friday morning.
A winter storm watch is in place for counties as near as Redwood and Renville.
The snowfall was expected to begin in the local area Wednesday after 4 p.m. Bemidji was expected to receive between 4 to 6 inches by 6 a.m. on Thursday.
The sloppy weather will continue into the afternoon, with light snow in the far north and rain elsewhere.
It will be a colder day with highs reaching about 30 degrees with a nasty north wind of 15-30 miles per hour.
Major Winter Storm Threatens End-of-2018 Travel
In the metro, there should just be rain for most of the day until colder temperatures arrive in the evening and snow returns.
Those traveling west could face some blizzard-like conditions in the Red River Valley on Thursday afternoon and into Friday morning, with severe wind and blowing snow.
