Resident Evil 2's Side Characters Become All-Stars in New Mode

Called "The Ghost Survivors", the new mode will bear a striking resemblance to the Extreme Battle mode that was available on the original '98 title.

However, the latest reports are coming according to which, it was revealed in the launch event held in Japan that Resident Evil 2 DLC will indeed happen, and now, it is in works as we speak.

While some speedrunners were able to clear the one-shot, time-limited Resident Evil 2 demo in mere minutes, it seems most players weren't able to (or were too scared to) finish it at all. This will feature multiple playable characters, including Robert Kendo and Katherine (the mayor's daughter), and includes randomized elements, an in-game shop, and a loose narrative. As for the 2nd and 3rd volumes, there has been no announcement yet, but rumors abound that each volume will appear with its own pair of characters. The costumes will be added for free on March 22nd. There is not yet a price attached. I would say, however, that Resident Evil 7, which released in early 2017, did eventually see plenty of DLC packages across various platforms. Does the DLC make you excited, or leave you wanting?

The trailer looks awesome, showing once more how the Resident Evil Engine originally created for the seventh numbered game of the franchise is a real powerhouse no matter what they use it for.

Though we don't know much about the mode, we do know that it will have a few enemies that players won't find in the base game.

It launches on PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on January 25 2019.
