Raptors acquire Gasol from Grizzlies for Valanciunas, Miles, Wright

The 32-year-old says the Toronto Raptors, ultimately, will do what's best for their organization.
The move is Raptors president Masai Ujiri's biggest trade-deadline deal since returning to the team in 2013.
The former University of Utah star point guard and ex-Jazz shooting guard will both be sent to Memphis in part of a trade that will send center Marc Gasol to the Toronto Raptors, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Rubio is either cool as they come with regards to the business side of the National Basketball Association, i.e. perpetual trade talk and maneuvering, or he's a man who knows he's not going anywhere. "I just know one thing, we have a good team, we have a good future in front of us".
That'll become in handy when he's on the floor with the second unit that has struggled with consistency this season. But he was never an All-Star, and as much as he improved his game over the years he was rarely on the court in crunch time.
Gasol, though not the the player he once was, should nevertheless prove an upgrade for the Raptors at center. It seems the trade demands for Memphis make this deal unlikely to happen.
There definitely are some other teams in the eastern conference who could make this happen. But three of the four Raptors who played the most minutes against the Cavs last May - DeMar DeRozan, Miles, and Valanciunas - are now all gone.
Every indication since Tuesday was that Marc Gasol would ultimately end up with the Charlotte Hornets. It may have taken a little time, but he has turned over more than half the roster, plus the coaching staff, of the best Raptors team that its fans had ever known.
