Sarri wants Chelsea to buy Higuain but admits striker ‘needs to improve’

When asked if he wants Higuain to remain at Chelsea, Sarri said (via The Telegraph): "Yes of course, but it depends on the club, it depends on Juventus".

The Blues signed Higuain on loan in January with an option to buy and he was expected to help fill the striker void, but he's managed just three goals in 11 appearances.

The Blues are due to find out the result of their appeal against a two-window ban next Thursday, although they will still have the opportunity to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport if Federation Internationale de Football Association uphold their decision.

Their hearing takes place next Thursday and if they don't get it overturned or delayed, they will take their case to Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Sarri said the final weeks of the season would be tough, with away league games looming against Liverpool and United on top of their European commitments, and wants to keep his players as fresh as possible for the run-in.

Eden Hazard is confident that Chelsea FC will be able to finish in the Premier League's top four this season.

"I think he needs time to improve his condition and be suitable for the Premier League. I think he is able to do it". It was a problem also for Suarez in the first season at Liverpool.

Sarri hopes to keep Higuain at Stamford Bridge next season but said it was dependant on both Chelsea and his parent club.

"In the second season he scored 17 goals, so it's not easy, especially for a striker, to play immediately well in the Premier League".

Asked if Chelsea must win all their remaining matches to make the top four, Sarri replied: "No, because I think the last part of the season will be really very hard for every team. It's not clear the situation at the moment".

Maybe [he will start on Monday], but we need to check every day the condition of his back.
