World's First 5G Phone Released In South Korea

Samsung announced its new-generation flagship Galaxy S10 smartphone lineup in an Unpacked event held in San Francisco back in February 2019.

Reliable leaker Evan Blass posted on Twitter the actual date for Verizon's Galaxy S10 5G launch.

Additionally, 5G will unite more than 1 million devices per sq km transforming how consumers live, communicate and work by connecting not only smartphones but vehicles, factories, offices and cities as well. On the downside, there's only one United States carrier that offers 5G services at the moment, and even Verizon only has the service available in two cities, Chicago and Minneapolis.

That said, Motorola's hardware costs $480 right now, and while Samsung has yet to announce USA pricing for the Galaxy S10 5G, it's safe to presume that Samsung shoppers will be paying more than twice that. Samsung Galaxy S10 features a Quad HD+ curved dynamic AMOLED display, triple rear camera carrying a 12MP primary shooter, 12MP telephoto lens and a 16MP ultrawide camera.

With 5G, said researcher Lee Sang-yoon, VR content "can be enjoyed in real time with no delay..." Currently, there's only one phone that USA carrier can offer to its customers if they want to sell their 5G services, the Moto Z3, but you'll have to buy an additional Moto Mod for that to work.

Unfortunately, those speeds are most of the time achieved in lab conditions, so if you're located I Chicago or Minneapolis, you'll probably get download speeds of around 450Mbps.

Neither KT nor SK Telecom use Huawei technology in their 5G networks, but it is a supplier to LG UPlus, the companies told AFP. Availability depends on carrier support as well since mobile 5G networks need to be live before the device can be released in a country.
